Strictly Stand Up – The English Comedy Night

hosted by Christian Schulte-Loh

Exclusively for Strictly Stand Up we’re having first-class club comics from all over the world fly to Berlin for one night only! Look forward to these fabulous comedians:

Gordon Southern (UK)
We’re thrilled to have Gordon back with us, after his first appearance here in 2014. Popular in the UK and Australia, Gordon is the international word clown. His upbeat and energetic delivery, combined with his fantastically funny observational comedy and quick-witted improvisation, has secured his place as an audience favourite all over the world. His comedy is international, engaging and most importantly “very funny” (Daily Mirror).

Jarlath Regan(IRE)
Jarlath is a true multitalent: graphic designer, TV actor, comedy writer, book publisher, organ donation advocate and amazing stand-up comic. Jarlath is a regular at comedy hotspots around the globe. He has been pleasing crowds and winning awards since he started his comedy career in 2003, scoring gigs on Comedy Central, BBC, and NBC, and we’re tickled pink that he’ll be joining us for the first time.
“The sort of comic you want to take home to meet your mum” (Chortle)

Tom Stade (CAD)
Our headliner is another returnee, who rocked the room in 2015. Although Tom is from Canada, he’s managed to earn a reputation as „half Jesus, half Charlie Manson“ (The Herald). You can expect one of the most original and exciting comics, someone with irrepressible charm and first class story-telling. Since he moved to the UK, Tom has steadily earned a reputation as one of the most original and exciting stand-up comedians around.
„Properly hilarious” (Mirror).

Spotlight Berlin: Drew Portnoy (USA)
Since all good things come in threes, we booked another command performance for our Spotlight Berlin: Drew left the mountains of Denver for the nightlife of Berlin over a decade ago. On stage, he uses his dry wit and adept storytelling skills to describe his travails with his biggest enemies: Berliners and his children. He’s also a regular on the Berlin German-language comedy scene, including our very own Talentschmiede and SSU in 2014.
